I'd been living with 9 different roommates for three years sharing the same place. It was a small two-room attic near the Opera House in Lviv, Ukraine.
They came and left periodically, but I stayed. Due to a limited flat area, only three people could live together at the same time. It was a mysterious and unique period, filled with people’s own features and habits. This place became a kind of hub for my first love, university life, chilling on the roof, an amateur photo area from what I lived off, and later, a little Paris when my sister divorced and moved into the apartment (she played the trumpet every night).
The last photo in this project was the last photo of my living in Lviv. On February 24, 2022, I had to flee the war that Russia has started. These people are scattered around the world now. I can talk about this place for hours, but what I remember most is how in the summer the whole room was flooded with orange light. The sun was setting, and a warm thunderstorm began.
